EP review: Cobwebs - Ruins of a Broken HeartIf you like good old rock & roll, Cobwebs is definitely your cup of tea! This Sheffield-based band brings you rock & roll like it’s supposed to be, spiced up with a little goth. Their EP Ruins of a Broken Heart sadly only has three tracks, but those ten minutes will brighten up your day. With influences liks AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Iron Maiden, Faith No More, 69 Eyes, Sisters of Mercy, Judas Priest, Metallica and Whitesnake, I’m sure you can guess what this band will sound like: dark voice, rock & roll riffs and rolling drums. All three songs make you want to put on your sunglasses and shake your hips. Devil’s Eyes is slightly more gothic than the other two, with a different guitar sound. It’s my favourite song of the EP. Verdict: The only thing I dislike about Ruins of a Broken Heart is that it’s so short! Cobwebs promise to be a great band to see live, so if you get the chance, you should definitely take it! |
