Album: Flint - Another Day of SorrowAt Rock am Ring we were given something that appeared to be a demo. The cover art is somewhat misleading: you don’t really know what to expect. It’s dark, and the artist (on the back cover) looks like a metal lover, but on the front he is seen with a (semi) acoustic guitar. That guitar is the only instrument on the album, with the exception of another guitar for some sound effects on tracks 1 and 2. Flint, who’s real name is Oliver Feuerstein, wrote, played, sang and produced the music and lyrics himself. The result: an album not worth listening to. The man sounds like a wannabe Curt Cobain at the MTV unplugged sessions mixed with Shawn Mullins and James Blunt. The lyrics are sometimes pretty good, but mostly appalling and very cliché. Maybe it would have been a good plan to include more people in producing this album. This one will disappear in the trash. Verdict: Oliver, don't quit your dayjob. |
