Film: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s EndTaglineAt the End of the World, the Adventure Begins PlotThe time for fun is over. Pirates, as well as those who aid them in any way, are being sentenced to death. The song they sing is a call to the nine Pirate lords throughout the world. A call to gather the brethren to defeat their enemy: the East India Trading Company and Davy Jones – whose heart is now in the hands of Lord Beckett which puts him under his command. But first, a rescue is staged by Elizabeth Swan, Will Turner, Captain Barbossa, and their piratey crew. Captain Jack Sparrow is needed for he is one of the lords and he is Captain of the legendary Black Pearl. Not to mention he also holds one of the nine pieces of eight that were used to seal up the feared goddess of the sea, Calypso, in her human form long ago. But can they get him back from Davy Jones’ locker? Can they return? Sharpen your swords and ready the canons. The adventure begins again in this action packed third installment! Join Jack Sparrow and crew as they race to Shipwreck Cove to unite the pirates against Davy Jones and Lord Beckett. Meet new faces and old as the final battle begins to see who will rules the seas. Which side of the playing field will win? Who can stop Davy Jones? And don’t forget to keep this in mind: Never trust a pirate! ActingA strong performance from the cast of this film. Orlando Bloom seems more comfortable in his role and does well with his character’s deceptive side. Who knew that Will could be sneaky yet honorable? Keira Knightley stands out. Definitely more kick ass in this movie than the others. Maybe it’s because she’s had enough! Don’t forget the ever loved Jonny Depp with his witty humor and sword fighting skills. This time around we see a bit more madness from Jack Sparrow, literally. And welcome back Geoffrey Rush! Witty in his own way and ready to fight, Captain Barbossa is back from the dead. He seems to know more than we thought and still wants command of “his” ship, the Black Pearl. Let’s not forget Chow-Yun Fat as Sao Feng, one of the nine pirate lords. Not as a huge a role as you’d think, but still plays a ruthless pirate. As a little bonus for the crowd, Keith Richards makes a slight appearance as Captain Teague, king of the pirates and Jack’s father. Depp truly did share a resemblance. Verdict: This movie exceeded my expectations. I feared it would flop, not keeping up with the other two movies seeing as how Dead Man’s Chest wasn’t as great as The Curse of the Black Pearl. There are lots of laughs and lots of action available. You won’t be disappointed. The visual effects were great and the fighting awesome. What would you expect when the fate of the pirates is on the line? You’re also in for a couple new surprises and a bit of deception. |
