Film review: Chronicles of Narnia: Prince CaspianTaglineA new age has begun. plotWelcome to Narnia, a land in another world where mystical creatures live. When last seen, it was being ruled by the White witch. One day, four young children stumbled upon a wardrobe that acted as the doorway to this place. They were known by the Narnians as the sons of Adam and daughters of Eve. And they were the ones to free Narnia from the Witch’s clutches. They all lived happily under the rule of the new Queens and Kings for some time. Until one day their rulers disappeared and never came back. But now a new threat has emerged and the children are needed once again. Prince Caspian is now exiled from his kingdom by an uncle who wants him dead so he can have the throne. By using a magical horn, the one that belonged to Susan, he calls back those who once saved Narnia from evil. Peter, Susan, Edmond, and Lucy are now back and dismayed at finding Narnia in ruins. They are more surprised to find out that Aslan is missing and has been since they had left long ago. Now they must take matters into their own hands, along with the help of Caspian and the remaining Narnians, in order to save Narnia once again and help the prince reclaim his throne. ActingBen Barnes did a good job playing the Prince. I liked how he showed the take charge personality that was needed to help lead the Narnians. Skandar Keynes was even better as Edmond this time around. He kind of annoyed me in the first movie. But just like his character has grown up, so has he. This goes for Georgie Henley [Lucy], William Moseley [Peter], and Anna Popplewell [Susan] as well. They were good in the first movie, but they showed a progression in this one along with showing the maturity of their characters. Verdict: I really like the first movie. I thought the effects were great and the acting good. This movie had some better acting and very good effects once again. It also had a bit more substance. By this I mean it was good to see that the siblings had grown a little and were also facing some more personal issues with having to deal with things more on their own this time around. It was a really good movie and worth seeing in the theatre if you are a fan of the series. |
