Who's ready for Thirds?

Plot

Not everybody is cut out to be a King, and when you are an ogre, no-one would even think of asking you to fill the position. Unfortunately for Shrek, when his froggy father-in-law, King Harold, dies, he thinks that he has no choice. Cue Princess Fiona’s long lost cousin, Artie. He sounds like a perfect replacement, until Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots meet him at his high school. Yep, you guessed it, he’s a teenager. Just when you think things couldn’t get any worse for our reluctant hero, Shrek gets an unexpected surprise from his wife, then his old enemy, Prince Charming (who since his demise has started performing at the local dinner theatre), plans to take over the thrown with the help of almost every evil fairy tale character you can think of. Another part of the movie I got a kick out of was the baby shower thrown for Fiona by her friends, Cinderella, Snow white, Sleeping Beauty (who apparently has a tattoo of 'Dopey' the Dwarf on her arm. *lol*), Rapunzel, and one of the Ugly Step Sisters.

Verdict: Overall, I think it’s an easy to watch, fun movie for all the family. It’s not going to break any records or win any awards, but its watchable. It has enough familiar characters and 'cute', heartfelt moments for the little kids; it has enough schoolyard crude humour for the bigger kids; and it has enough of the more mature themes to keep the parents entertained too. And, of course, if you liked the first two movies, you’ll like this next installment. I give it a 7 ½ out of 10
