Live Review: Chasing Ora in Southend, UKI described this gig to my friends as one of the best I’ve seen in Chinnery’s in ages. This band contacted me inviting me to see them in January. I listened to their stuff on myspace and there was no way I couldn’t say no. Chasing Ora has a great stage presence. A lot of the time bands can just become background music in little clubs like Chinnery’s but not with Chasing Ora, all eyes on them. There was a fair sized crowd and they all reacted brilliantly to solid rock tunes and harmonious females vocals. In fact, one fan liked the band so much his underwear found it way on stage! I get the feeling it was probably meant for one of the lovely sisters but the guitarist decided he could make better use for it, and so played the next song with the underwear on his head. I had the pleasure of meeting the band after the show, and we had a drink together and a little chat. They are all really great people and it was fantastic to meet them. Verdict: An amazing band with the potential to go far, and I really hope they do, this band, these people, Chasing Ora deserve to be known and loved. |
