Support act: Hiding Place
We think the biggest impact of the night was hearing the awesome sound of Hiding Place, man that band rocks. We will be keeping an eye out for them in the future. Hiding Place came out (Sarah had already seen them at the Manchester gig and had reported to Imre how good they were) and they didn't disappoint. Maybe we shocked people a little with our persistent head banging, as there didn't seem to be many rockers in the crowd. The first song was lost on everyone, but us, we think as the people around us stood gawping like fish, the reaction of the lead singer was to shout out for people to try to get into it in not so many words. We however loved them and we let them know. The teenies near us caught onto the act when they saw the attention we were getting from them and started acting like they know how to rock, pretentious gits, not that we care but their perfume was annoying. As the set went along the crowd got more into it and we were all enjoying an excellent performance. The guys made their way in-between the stage and the crowd on the last song. The only downside about their performance is that it was so short, hence we will be keeping an eye out for them. Check them out at hidingplace.tv!

The Rasmus
The venue was small and the stage was tiny with no room for the platforms, but it was nice and they handed out free water after taking our bottles at the door. The security were professional but pleasant, that makes a nice change, the crew were good guys too, fast and cheerful.

Expectations were high after the amazing night we had at the HIM gig in London (Halloween) and we are sorry to have to report we were a bit disappointed with The Rasmus. (Sarah was disappointed because it was Imre's first Rasmus gig, and Sarah has seen them perform so much better) We are not saying that the gig was a total wash out but the general feeling was that some of the guys hearts weren't in it, while others rocked. The set list was good and the acoustic set didn't fail to impress, thank you guys for that. We enjoyed the songs from 'Into' the most, especially 'Days', serious head banging material.

We really enjoyed 'not like the other girls' the live version being a lot better that the recording. It makes a nice change for the lights to focus on the drummer when he is doing his solo instead of him always being in the dark, and he is really worth seeing.

The Bristol crowd were different from the Manchester, being a lot younger and only seemingly there to gaze at Lauri instead of for the music. There were some older people at the back and we wonder if they felt as uncomfortable and old as we did. No fainters, no crowd surfers, not much pushing but way too much screaming. Can we *please* point out that they are not a boy band? *rolls eyes* We wonder if Aki will wear that G-string he caught with his drumstick during the acoustic session. Maybe we are being musical snobs but, an acoustic session is something we feel should be more appreciated and respected. Eero found it funny though, and his comment for Aki to put it on his head was worth a giggle. But then Eero did most of the talking.

Pauli rocked, his playing was spot on but we had the most fun winding Lauri up, by intentionally ignoring him when he came over to our side of the stage. Ha, ha, gotcha!!!! We are going to start a fund to buy the poor guy a new top, holey moley…

verdict: We hope that the Holland gig will be better, because we intend to rock not wobble.
